Psalm 34:12

Psalm 34:12

Psalm 34 is an acrostic poem that talks about people wanting to have a good life but sometimes to achieve that we make bad choices, and we do bad things, we may cheat, lie or even steal. But a good life cannot be achieved that way. Psalm 34:12-14 tells us how to achieve that life that we so desire. David is a man of war, but he took time out of his busy life to counsel the young people in his land. He always prayed to the Lord for guidance. David declares his desire to praise the Lord, and expands his invitation to his people. In this verse, David talks about how to achieve a good, blessed life. He’s not questioning whether we desire life, we all do; however, a good spiritual life is what he may refer to. A life of prosperity, free from remorses and guilt, a life of faith and righteousness can only be achieved by being faithful to God. Because all the good things in life could not be truly enjoyed without the pretense of God in our lives. A comfortable spiritual life without the fear of being condemned is a life lived in Christ.

Are Demons Having Sex With Humans?

Are Demons Having Sex With Humans?

The belief that demons have sex with humans has been embedded deep in the Christian and Jewish traditions for hundreds of years. Stella Immanuel, a Houston pediatrician and leader of a Christian ministry, believes that demon sex causes all kinds of illnesses such as miscarriages, impotence, cysts, among others. While looking into Dr. Immanuel’s background, many found that she also believes that the U.S government is run by reptilian creatures and that scientists are working on a vaccine to prevent people from being religious. Immanuel also rejected the effectiveness of wearing a mask to prevent the spread of the highly contagious Covid-19. She also promoted hydroxychloroquine to treat the virus. On July 27th, President Trump and his son Donald T. Tweeted a video that featured Dr. Immanuel to whom Trump described as “spectacular,” claiming that the drug used to treat malaria was a cure for Covid19; a treatment that Trump promoted and claims he has taken himself. She became quite the star within the right-wing circle with millions of views, especially after people started digging into her very unconventional beliefs. But, is demon sex something irrational to sublunary minds, or is it conceivable?

Prayer for Our Spiritual Warfare

Prayer for Our Spiritual Warfare

Paul reminds us to be spiritually strong because our true enemy is spiritual, therefore, our weapons must be not physical. While some people may have enemies of this world, Paul talks about our greatest enemy, Satan. Of course that there are and always will be different opinions, different interpretations, and understandings of this verse. The general idea, however; is that we are all in a spiritual warfare and we must be strong in our faith to be able to fight that spiritual evil that influences our life on Earth. And, the only effective weapon is God’s word, prayer and the blood of Jesus. Heavenly Father, please helps us recognize our spiritual enemies. Strengthen my body and soul so I may fight all the evil spirits and their works. Lord, please cover me with your precious blood and fill me with your Holy Spirit. Please equip me with faith and shield me from the enemy. May your hand never leave me and may your will be done in my life. Amen.

Celebrate Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday is a day in which the liturgy focuses on the suffering and death of Christ. It is followed by a procession and the blessing of the palms. The palms are often burned to be used during the following year's Ash Wednesday. In the Christian tradition, Passion Sunday is the first day of Holy Week and marks Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, a week before his crucifixion and resurrection. This day is celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy by Christians all over the world. The passion of Christ was a journey that ultimately ended in crucifixion, and Jesus died on the cross for the sins of all humanity so we could all be forgiven. Allow the Holy Spirit to enter your life and celebrate Easter with joy and optimism. Spread words of compassion to everyone around you and let the Spirit fill your heart with peace.

Caring for Our Soul in a Time of Crisis

During the health crisis, the church faces the reality of being unable to care for people’s souls as they normally would. However, the crisis has forced all of us to rethink how we accomplish certain aspects of our religious lives and the church has had to get creative, adapt, and try to reach people in their “online” lives. Considering that we have less distractions, making it easier to focus on our relationship with God and achieve a deeper sense of peace. Being deprived from attending Mass is tough for all of us, but we can be sure that in the midst of uncertainty, anxiety, and fear, God is with us. Even if we feel like we cannot trust anything or anyone, we can trust in God’s presence. He will grant us peace, love, and strength so we can remain physically and spiritually healthy.
