Bible Verses to Read to Our Children
Children are a gift and a blessing from God. This is what we know and have been taught by our parents. They come into the world innocent and pure, and they grow up to be our future. That’s the way it is meant to be.
As parents, it is important to teach our children life lessons that will help them stay innocent for as long as possible, and the Bible contains words of wisdom to help us do that and help us raise them and teach them the way of the Lord.
Proverbs 17:6 Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their fathers.
Isiah 54:13 All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.
Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
Proverbs 13:24 Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.
Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
Proverbs 6:20 My son, keep your father's commandment, and forsake not your mother's teaching.
Psalm 139:13 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
John 16:21 A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.
Psalm 127:3 Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.
2 Timothy 3:14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
