The Power of Prayer
Prayer is more than a simple mental exercise or vocal act, it is deeper than that. It is a deep spiritual connection with God. Prayer is like talking to God and at the same time is much more than that. Prayer has the power to bring changes to our life and the life of others.
There is scientific evidence that demonstrates the positive effects of faith and prayer. Though some of the studies have had mixed results depending on the methods used like the type of prayer and the demographics, they all had the same conclusion on the positive impacts of prayer and faith on human health. Over all prayer helps us mentally, psychologically and it even helps us experience grater physical health.
The bible says that the power of prayer is God who listens to us, the power isn’t in us though we can be and feel closer to God in prayer. When you pray, have an open heart and be humble because God will not answer based on the language you use or how well you articulate your words. Pray with confidence and humility, ask for protection and never forget to be thankful for all he provides. You can be sure he will answer when you pray with passion and purpose. The answer may not always be what you would like it to be or as fast as you want it to be but it will be exactly when you need it and what’s in your best interest according to God’s will.
Don’t underestimate the power of prayer, because it is powerful and effective, specially when it comes from the heart.
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops. - James 5:16-18
