The Importance of Knowing Sin

Knowing our Christian faith beliefs and being thankful for them is essential. Many people would say that the knowledge of sin is most important. The reason for this is that knowing is half of what being a believer is all about. We all know that God is omniscient and that He has a plan for every one of us. This means that we know He will save all of those whom He will draw to Him regardless of their status in life.

But why is the knowledge of sin so crucial if God will save us all? Many of us may understand the concept, others might still be searching for an answer, and while there may be different interpretations on the subject, the main idea behind this is that we should be thankful for all the good things that have come into our life. We should be grateful for the sacrifices and the love that we have received. 

The knowledge of sin enables us to grow spiritually as individuals. Through God's grace, we can become more aware of how valuable are all the things that happen in our lives. Whether they are good or bad, there is always an opportunity to learn from each experience and be thankful for everything. Every one of us has sinned, every one of us also has had time to reflect, and we all get the need to redeem ourselves and liberate ourselves from the sin that has got a hold of us. We need to open our hearts and submit to Jesus. As we do this, we are letting go of sin and getting ready to receive God's grace. 

Acknowledging sin is not a bad thing because being aware we've sinned means we're a step closer to redemption. We have to experience sin in order to seek God's grace. It may be terrifying to think that way but that's the only way we'll know how immense our Savior's forgiving grace is and how much he loves us. We can't point fingers and try to blame someone else. Instead, we have to be thankful that we were chosen to carry the burden of sin because that is what drives us to seek the help that only Jesus can give us. He will never give us anything that we cannot handle, even when that means sin.

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. - 1 John 1:8-10
