Veterans' Day Prayer
An act approved in May 13th of 1938 made November 11th of each year a legal holiday to be dedicated to honor the veterans of World War I. Though it began as Armistice Day, it was amended and became a day to honor American veterans of all wars and since then has been celebrated as Veterans Day.Ā Let us pray for all veterans because there may be no better way to honor them than in prayer.
God, today we pray for all the veterans of our nation. Men and women who gave their best and gave their lives when they were called to protect their country. We pray that you bless them for their unselfish action to preserve our freedom and our safety. Dear God, please bring healing to those who are still hurting and help them through the healing process. Please bring them closer to you, comfort their hearts and grant them peace. Let no-one feel forgotten. In Jesusā name Amen.
