God's Forgiveness and Our Sin

Some people think that they can sin as much as they want to because God will forgive them. But that cannot be further from the truth. Rather than relying on his forgiveness to cover for our sins, we have to accept Jesus in our heart and let him guide us and empower us. People who intentional and predetermined sin have little or no moral responsibility, for that reason they may not seek God’s forgiveness or they simply may not be willing to accept responsibility nor genuinely repent. The issue here is not that God will not forgive us but that we will stop asking for his forgiveness as we become use to sin. Sin has a way of destroying our faith, and if we lose our faith we lose the relationship we have with God.

God wants to redeem everyone not condemn us, if we ask for forgiveness God will forgive us but if we plan our sin and our repentance we will lose our chance of salvation. We have to return to the light and genuinely repent.

It isn’t unusual for people to sin, everyone has struggled with that at some point in their lives. We may even sin on a daily basis, intentionally or not we all sin. Maybe you feel like God turns his back on you when you fail specially when it is intentional, when in fact, Jesus is right there beside us to intercede for us before our Father. I recall a moment when I felt like I had let God down, and I was hesitant to approach him. But as I reflected on his love and mercy, I realized that he was waiting for me to come back to him, and he would help me find my way again. For instance, I remember a time when I had wronged a friend, and the weight of my actions kept me up at night. It wasn't until I apologized and made amends that I felt a sense of peace and could truly seek God's forgiveness. Similarly, I've found that even in the smallest of actions, like holding the door for someone or offering a kind word, I can begin to repair the damage of my own sin and start anew, which in turn allows me to seek forgiveness with a clearer conscience.

God’s grace is merciful, nonetheless; he will reprimand us but not by spanking us or making us suffer, he will show us his love to bring us to repentance and we will feel guilt because after doing something we shouldn’t have done he shows us mercy and makes the sun shine upon us every day. He may bring some hardship into our life but it’s always with a purpose. God is careful, wise and loving and he would never send us anything we cannot handle, is just his way to bring us closer to him and remind us of our faith.

If you recognize your sin and ask for forgiveness Jesus will be there to comfort you but those who don’t acknowledge their sins will not be forgiven and will not have eternal life. Sin is not something to take lightly if you want to be free from condemnation and be at peace with yourself and God. Often times your sin can hurt others so be aware and acknowledge when you have done harm to yourself or others and correct it. As we surrender our hearts to God, he will help us make amends and start anew, freeing us from the weight of our mistakes.

Lastly, don’t beat yourself up and think you are doomed. Turn to God with a humble heart, and let his love and mercy envelop you. He will guide you and give you peace and comfort in those times of need, as you walk in obedience to his will and seek to make things right with those you have wronged.
