A Christmas Prayer for Hope

A Christmas Prayer for Hope

2 min readPastor West

The Christmas season at its core is a celebration of life. Even though we might get caught up in the holiday shopping and fruitcakes, never forget the real reason for the season. As I reflect on my own childhood, I remember the simple joy of decorating the tree with my family, the soft glow of lights, and the warmth of love that filled our home - it's these moments that remind me of the true essence of Christmas. I also recall the year we volunteered at a local soup kitchen on Christmas Eve, serving hot meals to those in need, and how that act of kindness brought a deeper sense of purpose to our holiday celebration. One particular memory that stands out is of a woman we met there, who, despite her struggles, shared with us her favorite Christmas carol, and in that instant, her eyes sparkled with a sense of hope and belonging. This Christmas, as you gather around the table, celebrate with this Christmas prayer.

Lord, today we offer you this humble prayer and we ask to renew our hearts. In these difficult times, we need you more than ever. God, help us recognize those who may need our help this Christmas. Please bring joy into everyone’s hearts, especially those who feel forgotten and unloved, please bring them into your loving peace. We ask that you bless our family and friends as well as those who desperately seek your forgiveness. Cover us with infinite love and give us your heavenly peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen
