A Prayer for Remembrance

Dear God, today we come before you with a heavy heart as we remember the events of 9/11. Some of us today are still grieving our losses. We pray for those who lost their lives and those who lost their loved ones. We pray for the nearly 3000 lives that we lost that day. Lord, we thank you for the bravery of our first responders, please fill them with your grace and keep them in your glory. May you bring peace to this world, peace to the hearts of all men and women who suffered and continue to suffer because of this tragedy. Please call us back to that place in our hearts where we did not focus on wealth, sexuality, or nationality. May we continue to heal and help each other just as we did that day. We pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
