It may be hard for some of us to talk about our faith with others, especially in America, where we’re taught by the social norms that we shouldn’t talk about religion or politics in public. Talking about your faith with someone else can quickly give you a reputation as a preacher, which wouldn’t be a pleasant experience. But, sharing your faith can also be a meaningful and constructive experience because it not only brings other people closer to God, it also makes your faith stronger, and this can be very rewarding.
Jesus taught men how to spread his word, how to be fishermen of men, and today, people are still spreading His word, and that’s what God wants us to do. We just have to keep our eyes and hearts open for people around us that may be in need of some hope.
You may find that it is not easy to share your faith, but prayer is very powerful, especially when we ask God to open up the hearts of those who don’t know him yet. Some people may consider becoming ministers to share their faith, while others may go to a foreign land to teach the word of God. The reality is that most of us aren’t becoming ministers; in fact, most of us may prefer a normal lifestyle, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have opportunities to share our faith with others. We can all spread God’s word by merely performing acts of kindness. Kindness and love can change people’s lives forever. The small actions we do go a long way, they can multiply and spread like wildfire, and they are kindly remembered.
Think about it this way, we don’t read a book and talk about it with everyone because we want to forced them to read it but because we want others to experience the same things we experienced while reading it. In the same way, we can share our experiences with God.
If you’re unsure of how to share your faith with others, pay attention to the signs, God may be giving you. He will provide you with the right words to say and send you in the right direction to make an impact on the people around you.
Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. - Psalm 96:3
