When Finding Hope Seems Pointless

When Finding Hope Seems Pointless

This new year, forget about family drama, don't spread rumors or listen to stories. Instead, be the one who spreads peace and hope. For the past couple of years, we have been dealing with the pandemic and other global issues, like human rights, violence, and hunger. Many may feel like their efforts to do good deeds and follow their faith is useless; however, now more than ever, we need to keep pushing forward.

When we experience an overwhelming and disruptive life-changing experience or simply feel like there's no solution to a problem we're having, it is common to feel hopeless. We feel like it doesn't matter what we do; we just can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Having a positive attitude is key; however, in those moments when we're feeling down, feeling like we have no one to turn to for help, we need to surround ourselves with the people we love and support us. Hopelessness is much easier to overcome if we stay close to our support system, whether that is family, friends, or our religious groups.

While our faith may feel like it is constantly changing, never remaining strong, it increases with acts of kindness and worship. On the other hand, sometimes it may feel like our faith decreases, particularly when we neglect God and give in to our desires and passions instead of just focusing on being good. It may sound like being good is just not enough to get us closer to Him but in those moments, when we're feeling alone and so far away from Him, just being "good" is a great start. It may feel like nothing we do makes a difference, but believe that everything you do will have a significant impact little by little. Remember that nothing we do for the Lord is meaningless. So, be kind to others, do good deeds, and spread hope. You'll find that there's no greater purpose than to know you are allowing Him to do his work through you. You will become the hope to others that perhaps feel like everything they do is pointless. Allow yourself to be the light to others. He wants to be the light and hope to others through us.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. - Ephesians 2:10

Changes are happening, but they don't happen overnight, even when it feels like what you're doing has no impact. Someone once said, "we are like a tree, we keep watering and watering, and we don't see the growth immediately; we see it over time." So, when you feel frustrated, like everything you do is pointless, and you're wondering if what your doing is even making a difference, the answer is -Yes! One day, you'll be able to look back and see that everything you have done has made a difference in your life and the life of those around you.

So, keep reading the Bible, keep helping those in need, and spread love because every act of kindness you do will change your heart and create miracles
